Tarot Foundations Online Course

The best readings rest on a solid foundation. The spread, intuition, caring, and story-telling form the back bone of reading for others. Reading for yourself follows the same patterns but requires a bit of different approach. This 5 night workshop will help you build or deepen your foundation. James Wells, Nancy Antenucci, Carrie Paris, Andrew McGregor, and James Wanless will share their wealth of experience and practice both as readers and teachers to help you read with confidence and joy.

This class is not just for beginners – it is for people looking to evolve as readers. Reading tarot is an ever growing practice. I have been at it for almost 30 years and am still learning all the time.

This workshop is built to help deepen your practice and broaden your foundation so you can reach even higher!

If you’d like to get a better sense of these wonderful teachers you can listen to great talks with them on The Hermit’s Lamp’s podcast.

This class is manually fulfilled and you’ll get your login during business hours Tuesday to Friday 12-5pm.

Cost is $250 Canadian Dollars

James WellsThe Power of Context with James Wells

Whether you engage with the tarot for personal enrichment, offer its sagacity to friends and family, or bring it into a professional reading practice, it helps to partner the cards with a clear intention and a series of sub-questions that emerge from that intention.  Without context, our tarot sessions can turn into vague, unhelpful ramblings.  Join James to learn which questions will net you the most helpful answers from the tarot and how to organise such questions into an elegant spread in five easy steps.  By doing so, your creativity, imagination, and intuition will take on a laser precision that will add fresh nuance to any card in the deck.

James Wells, based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, is a consultant, teacher, and facilitator who merges soul and strategy.  From childhood, he has been curious about what makes people and the Universe tick.  With the tarot, circle process, reiki, and journal writing, James and his clients and students are invited to remember their creativity, resourcefulness, and wholeness.  In his “me time”, James enjoys reading, writing, music, walking, close friends, and good food.  He is the author of Tarot for Manifestation, Tarot Circle Encounters, and the forthcoming Evolutionary Tarot Spreads.

Tarot Within Sight with Nancy Antenucci

The Tarot is an alphabet of symbols. Its images are doorways to the world in between being human and spirit. This session will give you some road posts in finding your own comfort and abilities in reading the cards while staying engaged with the information that comes sideways.  We will speak directly to what the psychic aspect of tarot is and what it isn’t. There will be a few exercises (with and without cards) to help you discover your own awareness of this multi faceted tool. I will include my 6 Principles of a reading as a resource that you might employ:Grounding,Intent, Form, Synchronicity, Closure and Integration. I have devised this as a backbone for readings whether you use cards or not. Learn how to trust what you see and what you sense!

Nancy Antenucci (Nucc) is literally a mover and shaker in the Tarot world. Creativity and curiosity were the guiding forces in her self directed journey of learning the language of Tarot. From this personal foundation, her teaching is based on the belief that each of us have an inherent ability to dialogue with the visible imagery of symbols and the invisible energy of the Creative Unknown. Her book “Psychic Tarot – Using Your Natural Abilities to Read the Cards” is an offering of the first 20 years of exploration of Tarot and the Psychic.  She co-hosts the annual North Star Tarot Conference, leads the lively monthly Twin Cities Tarot Collective Meetup and is a performing member of the Curious Order of Arcana Arts.

A Code of Ethics, boundaries and being in right relationship with your qurent. These important items are often overlooked in the realm of divination, however that doesn’t mean we can’t add them to our list of offerings. In fact doing so greatly elevates our profession and skill set.

In this gathering we will learn how to best recognize and approach a client who is being transparent or invisible. From there we will look at what’s really going on by reading the wordless dialogue found in body language, atmosphere and intuitive hits. We will adopt a technique for grounding and holding the space of the Fair Witness in order for our client to stay in courage and right relationship with vulnerability. All of this will be supported by a powerful technique used by the Poet, Rumi called, Sama, or deep listening, which deepens the experience and teaches us how we can best understand the difference between readers who listen to mirror, or listen but do not hear.

In the end you will have a strong set of guidelines and tools for creating a caring Code of Ethics that complements your offerings and practice.

Telling powerful stories with Andrew McGregor

Reading tarot is an exercise in story telling. The querant plays the main role. Allies, circumstance, and enemies fill out the picture. By using tempo, flashbacks, and other tricks we can help the person getting the reading make sense of their lives. Having a sense of the narative also helps the reader stay on track as they journey through the cards. This workshop will give you some simple and powerful tools to use as anchors in your readings to build and reveal the stories of those you are reading for.

Andrew has spent the last 3 decades studying spiritual systems from all around the world. From the western mystery traditions to Afro-Caribbean religions and magic. From his shop in Toronto, The Hermit’s Lamp, Andrew helps people around the world make their lives better by finding their way into the land of sacred self. This year Andrew will have 3 books out on reading the cards – including a guide to making your own deck.

Tarot for Yourself with James Wanless

Tarot is your personal navigator – the “gps of the soul” – but how to use it wisely? The most judicious use of the cards for yourself is best represented by the classic Justice archetype because it shows you how to read and live by the cards in a whole and balanced way, which is the goal and destination of the tarot as a “life map.”

In this class, you experience and learn hands on how read for yourself in a balanced way.  As Justice demonstrates, we perform the “Whole Self Mandala” Reading which is the fair and just way to get insight and inspiration from your whole self – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual intelligences.  And we look at both sides of each card, particularly the Major Archetypes, to be objective about ourselves, which is not so easy.  In addition, we focus on the “problematic” cards and how to turn these challenges into positive and transformative opportunities.

Finally, we explore “face up tarot,” which is a brilliant method for internalizing the cards and deliberately selecting which card is most useful for ourselves in any situation and endeavor, whether in relationships, at work, or about money and health. In this way of proactive, “fortune creation tarot,”  you become the cards and use the tarot as true navigation guide and self-potentiation catalyst.

James Wanless, Ph.D., grows people and organizations based on four core life values – how to be whole, creative, sustainable and wealthy.  He is a vastly experienced “modern day alchemist” with a solid academic and professional background. He weaves diverse traditions and ways of life – ancient and modern, east and west, scientific and esoteric into practical solutions with a visionary eye.  James Wanless not only thinks outside the box, his universal, integrative and expansive approach to life makes the box obsolete.
